A Special Disposition ....

A special disposition, by His Grace; Lord Darnley...

In recognition, of the date,  March 24 (1603)- on which Scottish King James VI, became also King James I of England and Ireland.... let it be known, that the Perth Kilt Run has made a one time extension of the regular kilt run entry fee, and kilt order deadline to March 24/15!

FINAL LAST CHANCE - ENTER HERE:X

It being already known by in the Perth Kilt Run Realm, but herewith stated again ... that James VI was the only son of Mary, Queen of Scots and her husband, Lord Darnley. He was born in Edinburgh Castle on 19 June 1566, and then on 24 March 1603 James achieved his lifelong ambition when Queen Elizabeth I died and he inherited the throne of England (& Ireland). He grew up to be a shrewd, wary intellectual who managed to reconcile the warring factions among his nobility with such success that he has been described as 'the most effective ruler Scotland ever had'! But some, such as the King Henri IV of France had other opinions, calling James 'the wisest fool in Christendom'. (jealous being a terrible thing!).

PS ... Yes, we had another reason too ... our EMC advertisement - which was to advice of the final kilt order date, and regular entry fee ending - is not coming out until this weeks paper. We felt it worth to ensure the local readers did not miss out on the entry date, therefore we have delayed the date by one week. For those that have, or will make the expected date of March 17 - we thank you for your diligence. We see already a count of 2,425!!!
