Return of the Duke!

A journey made, a foe, now friend well met!

Last weekend our very own Perth Kilt Run committee member, David Eggleton (aka `The Duke fo Richmond``) made the trip to Raleigh, North Carolina to observe, and participate in their Guinness world record attempt at the largest kilt race in the world. As you can see from the photo, they were a game bunch...and were able to muster 1,556 kilted runners! It is the second largest kilt race ever...only behind our new standard ran in Perth, Ontario last year, of 1,764*.  By all accounts from the Duke of Richmond, they were a friendly lot, and given to great hospitality. A few have shown interest in coming to our event on June 22, 2013...we hope we can host our fellow record challengers with as much spirit.  Well done Duke, Lord Darnley.

ps ONLY ABOUT A WEEK BEFORE REGULAR REGISTRATION WILL END ON ST PATS DAY - Hurry!!! and tell yore friends!

  1. The Duke was a speedy runner as well. Passed him at mile 3.5 and he was holding a sub 7 minute pace nicely. Even chatted for a moment with him. Was a pleasure to meet him last weekend.
